Obritas

Application geared towards the management and budgeting of works for independent workers and small teams, designed to organize tasks, prices, budgets and work processes in a simple and scalable way.

Overview

Obritas is a software project geared towards the small and medium-sized construction sector, with a special focus on independent contractors, freelancers, and small teams that need to streamline their operations without adding unnecessary complexity.

The idea stems from a concrete need: in many work environments, information on prices, tasks, budgets, and progress is managed in a scattered way. This complicates organization, hinders cost estimation, and makes it more difficult to maintain a professional image with clients.

To address this problem, Obritas proposes a platform that allows for the centralization and structuring of key information about daily work. Its objectives include the reuse of pricing templates, the organized creation of budgets, task tracking, and the overall improvement of workflow.

The project also has a strong product design component. It's not just about building functionalities, but about doing so with a logic aligned with the real user: someone who needs a useful, clear, and easy-to-understand tool. Therefore, the approach combines software engineering, modular design, and a business perspective.

As it evolves, Obritas aims to become a solid foundation on which to continue incorporating capabilities, always maintaining a balance between ease of use and technical scalability.

Problem Statement

Many freelancers, construction workers, and small teams manage budgets, tasks, materials, and project tracking informally, using paper, messages, loose notes, or makeshift spreadsheets. This leads to errors, loss of information, poor traceability, and difficulties in professionalizing daily operations.

Solution Approach

Obritas emerged as a digital solution focused on simplifying the daily management of small construction projects. The proposal is to offer a clear, practical, and adaptable tool that allows users to create budgets, organize tasks, reuse prices, maintain data consistency, and support their operational growth without requiring advanced technical knowledge.

Technical Decisions

On a technical level, the project was designed with a modern and maintainable architecture. The backend relies on .NET and a layered structure, aiming to separate responsibilities between domain, application, infrastructure, and API. The frontend uses Angular, prioritizing a modular, clear, and scalable interface. The solution also includes relational persistence, DTOs, validations, error handling, and a gradual evolution from MVP to a more robust product.
